STRATEGIC PLAN

In 2021 the Club developed its first Strategic Plan.   This document aims to set the direction of the Club for the next 5 years. In developing the plan the Club held a Strategic Planning workshop which included a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) Analysis.

The results of this Analysis have been documented in the Plan with associated Goals and Objectives developed aimed at either mitigating (for Weaknesses or Threats) or capitalising (for Strengths or Opportunities) identified topics and to ensure the long term viability and success of the Club.

The Plan also includes other information including:

~ The need for the Plan,

~ Our Club Trademark
(including our Vision and Mission Statements),

~ Club Management Structure,

~ Club History (where we came from),

~ A snapshot of the Club (where we are now-at time of writing),

~ What the Club considers to be the Strategic Portfolios,

~ The SWOT results, and

~ Associated Goals and Objectives.

RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN

In late 2019 the Club also developed and approved its Risk Management Plan (RMP).   This document was created to meet compliance (Blue Card) requirements but to also educate and protect our members and volunteers.

The RMP includes information relating to:

~ About the Qld Govt Blue Card System and its requirements

~ Statement of Commitment

~ Purpose of the RMP

~ Code of Conduct

~ Identification of Risks

~ Volunteers and Risk Management

~ Managing breaches of the RMP, and

~ High risk activities and Special Events

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT PLAN

The Club has also developed a Volunteer Management Plan, but this plan is yet to be approved by the Committee for release.  It is hoped that this will occur in early 2023.   This document aims to describe how we attract, manage, support and reward our valuable Volunteers.

The Plan also includes other information including:

  • What defines a Volunteer,
  • Rights & Responsibilities of Volunteers,
  • Code of Practice,
  • The role of the Volunteer Coordinator,
  • Finding Volunteers,
  • Selecting & Screening Volunteers,
  • Onboarding Volunteers,
  • Recognising & Rewarding Volunteers,
  • Managing & Supporting Volunteers,
  • Dealing with Conflict and Difficult Volunteers ,
  • Succession Planning, and
  • Mentoring Programs.

OTHER PLANS

The Club is also looking at what other plans it may need to its Goals, Objectives and Compliance requirements. This may result in the development of some or all of the following Plans:

  • Junior Development Plan,
  • Operational Plan,
  • Communications Plan, and/or
  • Financial Management Plan.
